GrotonTigers.com
is a family-friendly technological resource that was created to
facilitate interactive Web play between parents, students and
educators. The site features age-appropriate games that stimulate
important developmental skills, such as sequencing, ordering, and
matching, and encourage the very types of parent-child interaction that
our district strives to promote. We also offer detailed information for older
students and activities for school and home use.
Technical Troubleshooting
First, be sure you have downloaded the latest free versions of your
browser
(Netscape
or
Internet
Explorer), and
QuickTime or
RealPlayer. The newest versions of
Shockwave
and
Flash Player
are also required for many of the links. Be sure to
download the newest version for your computer and you should be good to
go.
For Internet Explorer Users
Is your computer is still freezing up or not producing sound while on
our site even though you have updated the most recent version of
Internet Explorer? It could be a problem in the software Internet
Explorer uses to run Java applets. Get the most recent, bug-free version
of the
Java Virtual Machine for Internet Explorer. Scroll to the bottom of
this page and download the latest version.
Printing
Coloring Pages may print out larger on a Mac or smaller on a PC. To
adjust the size of your image, change your printer settings (On most
computers, you can do this by going to Print, selecting Properties and
choosing the Enlarge/Reduce or Scaling options).
Screen Size
Most screen resolutions are set to either 640x480 pixels, or 800x600
pixels. Groton Tigers looks best in 800x600. On a 640x480 screen, the graphics and text will appear larger
but you will see less at one time without scrolling. On a 800x600
screen, you should be able to see most of the main screens without
scrolling. To set your screen to your preference, follow these steps.
For a PC: Select Display Properties (or just Display) from your Control
Panel. Choose the Settings tab and adjust the screen resolution.
For a Mac: Select Monitors and Sound from your Control Panel. You should
have the option to choose a screen resolution.
Sound
You will find sounds for most of the web sites. We hope you enjoy the
“tunes”. Still have a question about how this site works on your
computer?
